Van is a co-producer on the forthcoming film musical of “Kiss of the Spider Woman” starring Jennifer Lopez and written and directed by Academy® Award winner Bill Condon. Dean is also a co-producer of the feature film documentary “Midsummer in Newtown” which premiered as a Spotlight selection at Tribeca Film Festival. He also has several other film and television musicals in pre-production.
Van co-founded Broadway Records which released nearly 300 albums such as cast albums for shows including the Grammy Award winning The Color Purple 2015 revival with Jennifer Hudson and eight that were Grammy® nominated (Matilda, Once On This Island, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof with Danny Burstein, Burt Bacharach and Steven Sater’s Some Lovers and Stephen Schwartz’s Snapshots, Caroline, or Change, Randy Rainbow’s “A Little Brains, A Little Talent”). In 2024, Van Dean launched a new label, Center Stage Records, that has taken on nearly 2/3 of Broadway Records’ catalog and has released many exciting new albums in its first year including the Original Broadway Cast Recording of How to Dance in Ohio,
